KPMG's Regulatory Practice (Compliance & Transformation Practice (part of KPMG Advisory) provides strategic and technical regulatory compliance solutions to help financial services providers anticipate and manage their regulatory risk.

Our team helps clients meet regulatory expectations and obligations by implementing effective and efficient governance and risk management frameworks, enhancing internal controls, and helping create a culture of risk management and compliance. We do so in the field, side-by-side with our clients. 

We have established a very substantial footprint on the Belgian market, serving both traditional actors (banks, insurance companies, asset managers, payment institutions, etc) and new players and FinTechs. Several strategic growth initiatives have been set-up to allow us to take the next leap.

To us, having a good understanding of legal requirements is a sheer necessity, but legal analysis will be a small part of our job. Our job is about “making it happen” in practice.  Your first mission would consist of projects in connection with Anti-Money Laundering (AML). Specifically, banks etc have a fundamental role as “gatekeeper” to prevent that proceeds from illicit activities end up in the real economy. Regulatory expectations towards banks are evolving at fast pace, and banks need to keep up with these evolutions while some need to rectify the result of weaknesses in their AML framework in the past, by setting up an AML remediation program. 

Profiel

Skills & Qualifications
You have:

  • A Bachelor diploma in Law or a Master
  • You have good insights in how to work with different sources of law;
  • You are a team player who can work autonomously and most importantly,
  • you have an entrepreneurial mindset and are willing to contribute actively to the growth of the KPMG Regulatory Practice;
  • You are result-oriented with excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
  • You have good communication skills, both written and spoken in Dutch and/or French and English;
  • A first professional experience is a plus, but not a necessity (you will get the proper training before starting your first mission …)
